# Sign in with ChatGPT

> For the complete documentation index, see [llms.txt](https://learn.chatgpt.com/llms.txt). Markdown versions of documentation pages are available by appending `.md` to the page URL.

Sign in with ChatGPT lets you sign in to participating apps and sites with your
ChatGPT account. In supported apps, eligible ChatGPT Plus and Pro subscribers can
also choose to use their ChatGPT plan for AI requests.

Signing in and using your plan are separate permissions. You review what an app
can access before you connect it.

## Sign in with ChatGPT

1. In a participating app or site, select **Continue with ChatGPT**.
2. Sign in to the ChatGPT account you want to use.
3. Review the account information the app is requesting, such as your name, email
   address, and profile picture.
4. Continue to finish signing in. If you already have an account with the app using
the same email address, follow the app's prompts to confirm and link the accounts.

You can also link ChatGPT to an existing account in a participating app. Sign in
to the app, then look for the ChatGPT option in its account or billing settings.

## Use your ChatGPT plan

Some apps also let you use your ChatGPT plan for eligible AI requests. It uses your
Codex / ChatGPT work usage included in your plan.

When an app asks to use your plan, review the **Use your ChatGPT plan** permission
and choose whether to allow it. Select **Continue** to proceed.

App usage counts toward your existing plan limits. Connecting an app does not add
a new allowance, and the app may have its own fees.

Using your plan does not give the app access to your ChatGPT conversations or
memories. Review any other permissions the app requests separately.

## See and manage usage

In ChatGPT, open **Settings > Usage** to see how connected apps use your plan.

To set a limit for an app:

1. Under **App limits**, open the percentage menu next to the app.
2. Set its weekly limit as a percentage of your overall weekly plan usage.
3. Select **Save**.

An app's limit is a cap, not a separate allowance or a reserved portion of your
plan.

To completely disconnect access for an external partner tool, go to **ChatGPT
Settings > Security and login > Sign in with ChatGPT**, select the app, and select
**Disconnect**.
